Prometheus goes to Dusseldorf!

We are delighted to invite you to Prometheus Art Weekend, hosted by Freies Russland NRW.

Prometheus Art Weekend is a three-day programme of contemporary art exhibitions, public talks, performances, lectures, and networking events, offering the opportunity to meet and engage with artists and cultural practitioners. We invite you to join us on this new journey, which we call Art Weekend - a travelling platform for artistic exchange and dialogue. First stop: Düsseldorf, Germany.

Freies Russland NRW is a diasporic initiative that brings together democratic and anti-war Russians and Russian-speaking communities living in the North Rhine–Westphalia region. Since its founding, the organisation has held numerous demonstrations and public actions, frequently collaborating with artists from the region. Freies Russland NRW also continuously raises funds to support Ukraine and Ukrainians.

Prometheus is an independent art platform supporting artists and artistic practices that critically address war, repression, and systemic injustice. Working at the intersection of contemporary art and civil society, Prometheus provides visibility, contextualisation, and international access to artworks created under conditions of censorship and political pressure. Through this work, the platform contributes to cultural resilience, historical memory, and public understanding.

As part of the Art Weekend, we will present works from five of our exhibitions, including selected sections from the largest exhibition of critical art, Artists Against the Kremlin, as well as Virus, Arrival, and Through the Bars. In Düsseldorf, we will also present the full exhibition Make Loaf Not War. A charity auction of the exhibited works will take place during the Art Weekend, with all proceeds going to support civilians in Ukraine.
